Wayne Hooper GAICD
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Wayne is a professional engineer with more than 40 years of diverse management and technical experience. His background spans engineering design, maintenance, contracts, large engineering project management and financial analysis, beginning in the electricity generation sector and extending to FMCG production and high-volume manufacturing. Prior to joining the Company in 1994, Wayne held senior marketing roles in the building products manufacturing industry. Since the company’s infancy, Wayne
has had a hands-on role in driving its growth and adoption of technology. As an Executive Director, Wayne utilises his experience, engineering expertise, financial insight, and effective communication to help guide the Company. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds degrees in science, engineering (Honours Class 1), and an MBA.
Matthew Twist GIA (Aff.)

Matthew Twist studied Commerce, becoming a highly experienced management accountant who provides financial expertise and
insights at all business levels to support best practice decision making, strategic formulation, and financial and operational control systems development in manufacturing. He believes in the power of information, focusing on data integrity and availability to proactively influence business performance. Matthew has been the Company’s Chief Financial Officer since March 2007 and was appointed Company Secretary in March 2009. Matthew has a Certificate in Governance Practice and is an affiliated member of the Governance Institute of Australia. He is also a Justice of the Peace in New South Wales.
Michael Tyler

Michael has a wealth of experience in leadership roles within global manufacturing and end to end supply chain operations, across many industry sectors including Healthcare and Steel, and in multiple geographies. He holds a Science degree majoring in Metallurgy and an MBA. His background in Metallurgy, together with his extensive industry experience, provides a unique perspective that aligns perfectly with our strategic direction.

Keith is an executive leader with global experience building technical, solution-oriented teams, as to deliver positive customer experiences and outcomes. Focused on collaborative sales and marketing strategies to deliver technical solutions to extend the life of hard-working assets and reduce scrap and stress on the environment . Keith enjoys working closely as a team mate across sales, marketing, R&D and operations to deliver technical solutions in industrial markets.
Steve Halloran
General Manager Site Operations
Steve has led our NSW operations, including estimating, since 2012. Steve has recently taken the post of Production Manager overseeing our Queensland operations. He joined LaserBond in 2007 as an experienced tradesman and is fully conversant in our diverse operational divisions. Steve holds a Cert III Mechanical Engineering Trade Certificate.
Chris Dempsey

Chris is an accomplished Senior Engineer Professional with extensive technical and management experience including manufacturing and oil & gas industries. He provides global experience in technical design, engineering, project management, operations management and senior leadership roles. He brings over 25 years of technical, business unit management and leadership to the LaserBond Victorian & South Australian facilities. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical (Hons).

Grant is a Mechanical Engineer with significant experience in machine design and robotics. He has worked in Australia and overseas, project managing factory builds and upgrades including the development of new technology. Grant has a background in heavy industry, in engineering, project management and operations management.
Thomas Schlaefer
Research And Development Manager
Thomas is a materials and process expert out of Germany who leads our R&D department. He achieved his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the Surface Engineering Institute of RWTH Aachen University, Germany, which is one of the leading research institutes for coating materials and processes. He has extensive experience and knowledge of materials and coating processes, and technical skills related to laser cladding, application oriented coatings development, materials development, and materials and composites analysis.
